Responsibilities:
  • Create and implement strategic sales plans to grow the market presence and accomplish business goals through Biotech, Biopharma, and Pharma customers requiring OSD formulation development for commercial manufacturing.
  • Establish and nurture strong connections with important customers and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective sales strategies and initiatives.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the OSD Drug Product market.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, leveraging an active network.
  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive landscape, and potential clients.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
  • Provide regular reports on business development activities, sales performance, and market trends to senior management.
  • Negotiate and close deals, ensuring favorable terms for the company.
  • Work closely with the program management team from the RFP process through the project stages with the client.
  • Focus on early-stage opportunities between pre-clinical to Phase 2b/3 with innovative pharmaceutical companies developing solid oral dosage forms.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business with life science experience, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in business development within the Drug Product CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) industry, with a preference for oral solid dosage forms. Strong network within the Western pharma/biopharmaceutical sector.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 60% as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events (If the candidate is on the West Coast, travel to US headquarters bi-monthly).
  • Minimum of 2 years exposure to the drug product manufacturing industry.
  • An understanding of cGMP manufacturing requirements as well as regulatory and environmental issues relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, energetic personality, and accountability in accomplishing the objectives of the business.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels of our customer's organizations as well as internally at all levels.
  • Strong relationship-building skills across disciplines (technical, commercial, operational, and middle- and senior management).
  • A high level of "can do" creativity, determination, and personal motivation.
