Job Description
Responsibilties:
- Development of non-standard machine and ancillary equipment quotations as requested by Sales to meet the required submission deadlines. This will require direct work with the Department Managers, Account Managers or Project managers to take direction for the specific development of the equipment quotations.
- Provide quotations for all products by interfacing with required sub-vendors, intra-company departments or German parent company to procure specifications and pricing. Personal responsibility for quotation accuracy in all areas
- Utilize generate quotations and take advantage of standardized pricing and text to the maximum extent practical. When needed create custom text blocks and options.
- Work closely with Applications Dept. Supervisor and overseas experts to develop a high level understanding of ERP software.
- Perform applications engineering to specify process equipment types for use in GAT process systems, or to modify existing specifications for standard product offerings to meet customer requirements. Includes correspondence with equipment vendors
- Maintain price calculation spreadsheets for all equipment projects by following guidelines for format and commercial content.
- Assume lead as Project Manager for laboratory equipment product line sales and as assigned, stand alone material handling product line sales. This requires:
- Overall responsibility for the budget, schedule, problem resolution, and customer satisfaction for assigned projects.
- Assume lead customer interface for project from quote to conclusion of warranty period.
- Manage project schedule with tracking, updating, and reporting.
- Creating budgets, tracking and reporting final budget versus actual costs
- Development of final specification packages.
- Instruct input of all Timogix job codes for project labor tracking\
- As required, issue final specification package distribution and review with GAT Sales, GAT Engineering Services, GAT Process Automation, GAT Turnkey engineering and sub-vendors.
- Develop final equipment specifications for all purchase orders. Write up and place purchase orders with all overseas and domestic vendors.
- Where others are assigned as Project managers, work as part of the project team for the successful specification, purchase and delivery of equipment and equipment systems as requested.
- Organize and maintain project work files including equipment specifications and purchase orders, faxes/quotes from all vendors, pricing spreadsheets established for U.S. and foreign supplied equipment, customer/vendor correspondences, and all pertinent information
- Issue accurate, timely and consistent documentation related to all verbal conversations, submittals, project meetings, etc
- Coordinate changes to standard product lines and disseminate information accordingly with the company.
- Travel to customer and vendor sites for technical meetings, quote reviews, and project coordination.
- Forge strong bonds with other project team members. The ultimate goal is to ensure a consistently high level of customer service.
- Provide customer phone support and assistance as needed.
- Complete weekly Timogix time sheets for all projects and workload.
