  1. What is your title at Germer? Associate Pharmaceutical Recruiter
  1. When did you start at Germer/ how long have you been here? I started working at Germer at the end of June, so I have been here for about 11 months now.
  1. What is one piece of advice you would give to a fresh graduate job searching? Start looking early!  It takes a lot longer than you’d think to go through the job search and interviewing process.  I started looking and applying at the beginning of senior year and I would definitely recommend starting around then.  Graduation is an overwhelming time, so starting early and having an idea of what you will be doing after graduation can help alleviate some of that stress.  But also don’t let the job search take over your life, everything works out in the end!
  1. What is the hardest part of transitioning into full time work? For me, the hardest part was adjusting to a new schedule.  I was use to having a lot of free time during the day to do errands or make appointments.  But with a job, you have to plan ahead and find time to do errands or go to the gym before, after, or at lunch during the week.
  1. What is your favorite part about working at Germer? My favorite part is our culture and environment. We are driven, hardworking, and goal oriented, but also fun and genuinely care about each other’s happiness and wellbeing.
  1. What is your favorite part of post-graduate life at Germer? I like being in a work environment with people who help me plan for my work and personal goals. I haven’t really thought about my long-term goals before. I know I want to eventually buy a house, travel, and have enough savings put away for a rainy day, but I had never figured out a plan achieve all of these things.  I really like that Germer has taught me how to realistically think about the future.
  1. What is your favorite part of working with candidates from start to offer? I love getting to know a candidate. That moment when you are able to connect with them, earn their trust, and present them with an opportunity that would be a great fit is so satisfying and exciting.  It is a great feeling to gain someone’s trust and have them put their faith in you to help them with such a large life change.
  1. What is the most challenging part of this job and how do you overcome this challenge? The hardest part for me is pushing past the frustration of not hitting my goals or not having as much activity as I would like.  You can only control your own actions, so not letting myself get slowed down during the lulls and keeping up on the things I can control has helped me push through the challenge.  In the end, the consistent work pays off and when you hit those goals it is even more rewarding.
  1. What is the most important lesson you have learned since graduating college? Learning how to be independent and live on my own. From paying bills and rent, dealing with insurance, making doctors appointments, to planning and cooking meals for myself, has been a big adjustment.  So pretty much having to handle life on my own has been the biggest lesson.
